Founded in Mitaka, Tokyo in 1946 (post war) by Kashio Seisakujo this legendary brand secured a spot in customers mind for life. If you ask me, Casio's stamina and presence in the market matches Ralph Lauren. Even though Ralph Lauren is now available on Walmart, (strategy more than anything but this is a topic for another post) their spot in the old money society is unshakable. Celebrities like Anne Hathaway, Priyanka Chopra, Selena Gomez and Jennifer Lopez, enjoy RL timeless and elegant design.
Casio has been endorsed by Eminem, Bill Gates, Gerard Butler, Tom Cruise, Serena Williams, Dwayne Johnson, and Kristen Stewart to name just a few. Don't be fooled by Shakira's song about changing a Rolex for a Casio.
Despite of Casio being founded in 1946, it was in 1974 that they manufactured their first watch; the "Casiotron". This being the first digital watch in the world.
This built a story about legacy, value and quality.

I grew up surrounded by people using Casio everywhere and talking about how good this brand was. Same goes with Nokia, they secured their spot in our memories due to their resistant cellphones. Legend says Nokias will survive the end of the world and create new civilizations.
Same goes with Casio being water and shock resistant. I can tell you this because when I walk, I take the corners with me and my Casio watches have survived. I clean the dishes, I watch my hands and my watches are going strong.
I also remember people around me (neighborhood and family) cleaning the backyard, taking care of plants, and washing their cars with a black Casio watch.
In my opinion, I love Casio watches because first, I have a melancholic feeling, many memories attached to that brand, second, they are elegant, affordable, and resistant. The Casio watch I showed in a previous blog post, is missing and I don't know what happened to it.
