Fashion Statement: Red Outfit

For this family event I took inspiration from Emma Watson, the actress that gave life to Hermione Granger ("It's leviOsa, no leviosA'") in the cinema success Harry Potter.  Apart from admiring her acting career and the fact that she graduated from Brown University, I also found her elegance and style very appealing.

So, one day watching news about her I saw this picture:

I knew I found the weeding outfit I was looking for.  I was looking to create something different, never worn before by me.  Because at that time I was starting to get tired of the same pattern of dresses and leggings, cute blouses, etc.

So, because I already had the red dress and the shoes, I had to run to the mall to find the perfect pair of pants.

Truth to be told; I did not found the ones I truly wanted, but after literally running to all the stores I could, I had to settle and here was the result:

The Lady in Red

Dress: From 579

Pants: Marianne

Shoes: Marshalls

Jewelry: Internet and Excentrix

To this date, I still regret not wearing red lipstick, but still, my intentions were pure; I was experimenting with being risky.  Which was a good thing because at that time of my life, that is the statement that describe the process I was going trough.  I was this cutie, floral, good girl and I was trying to detach from that identity I might say?

I was growing, maturing, life was happening, my mind was changing.  This was the time I started to sense something was wrong with the church system and their rules of "you need to look holy because you are holy...

And all I wanted was to find who I truly was. Who was Francheska without others telling her what to do, how to dress, how to behave, and how to think.

My style was a reflection of all of that.
