Fashion Mistake: Ballet Flats & The Incorrect Socks

I was in Orlando, FL with my family.

Between style and comfort; that is how I spent a considerable amount of time trying to make a choice.  Specifically talking and for the purpose of this picture, sometimes I decided to put a liner inside my ballet flats to avoid using socks and looking like that.  At that time I had to walk to everywhere ( no car), my college campus was huge to walk around, but I wanted to look cute.

There were socks that fit perfectly but sometimes, I was not able to find them. The life of these socks was very short (remember I had to walk everyday, every time)  At that time it was hard to find certain items to elevate my looks and I had to use whatever I had available.  To take a look at this picture knowing that yes, I was feeling kind of uncomfortable, but the fact that I was feeling comfy surpassed the negative feeling.

I was happy, having a great time and at the end, it's what matters the most.

Fashion mistake? Yes, but I was fully present in the moment.

The lesson?

Let's not take life too serious.  Sometimes, we have to dance in the rain with messy hair because that's part of the human experience. Woa! I feel inspired jaja.

About the dress:

I bought this gorgeous floral dress in Forever 21, in a short trip to New York. Forever 21 used to be my ride or die and it was sad news to hear about their closure.  Forever 21 truly was a fashion industry giant and even though it was "fast fashion" you were able to find quality pieces and accessories.  Economy started to go down, COVID happened, and people stop buying the old way.  Also, it could have been that having too many stores killed the allure surrounding forever 21.

Going back to my style, the leggings...oh the leggings. I wish to never have wore them and it was definitely a miss.  and let's not talk about the sandals.  Also, I was crazy about floral prints.  I will make a comeback to my floral vibe.  I am a floral print gal at heart and now I know it will never change. Now, the challenge is to find prints that are favorable to my body shape and height.  Styles that goes according to who I am today.

In my defense I would say this was the 2000's you know, around 2009-2010.  I was living the dream; I was in my dream college and traveling to my dream city: NY.  If you knew me back then, you know how obsessed I was with this city.

So many great memories.

I was such a dreamer, a creator, photographer, writer...I was so many things and thanks to this phase I know how it feels to touch the sky, to be high on dreams.

Till the next post,
